Alexis Mac Allister has been touted as one of the most complete midfielders in the game of soccer. He won the World Cup with Argentina in 2022, the Copa América in 2024, and the Premier League with Liverpool in 2025. At the 2026 World Cup, he scored in the quarterfinals against Switzerland.

The person who has been beside him through much of that run is his longtime partner, Ailén Cova. Below, get to know more about her:

Cova is a fashionista.

With more than 213,000 followers on Instagram and counting, Cova is an influencer and is also reportedly a licensed designer in fashion and textiles in Argentina. She often shares a mix of fashion, lifestyle, and travel content on social media.

They are from the same hometown.

Mac Allister and Cova were childhood friends, both originally from La Pampa, the central Argentine province where Mac Allister was born and raised before beginning his football career. The relationship first made headlines in late 2022 and early 2023, shortly after Mac Allister ended a five-year relationship with his former girlfriend, Camila Mayan.

The couple welcomed a daughter last year.

Mac Allister and Cova became parents in September 2025, welcoming a daughter named Alaia. The baby was born in England, as the Premier League season traditionally kicks off in August. Cova documented the pregnancy openly on Instagram, sharing photos as her bump grew and later posting a reel that traced the full journey, from the moment she found out on a pregnancy test to the first sonogram, with a printed reel of sonogram photos included.

“After 18 hours of suffering, the most beautiful and special moment of our lives arrived,” Cova wrote in one caption, shared with a newborn image of Alaia. “A special mention for you, my love, I’m so incredibly proud of your strength and love in overcoming this and giving us the greatest gift in the world. I LOVE YOU.”

The couple are also pet parents. They appear to have adopted a small brown mixed-breed puppy in 2023. Cova introduced the dog on Instagram with a caption that read, translated from Spanish, “Actually, you adopted us, sleepyhead.” The dog has his own dedicated section on her Instagram Stories, under “Homerito,” with a collection of sweet and playful photos and videos documenting his growth over the past three years.

Cova is a frequent flyer.

Cova has been a consistent presence at Mac Allister’s matches, traveling between the United Kingdom for Liverpool fixtures and various countries for Argentina’s international games. Her Instagram documents trips to New York, Paris, London, Ibiza, Rome, and St. Moritz, among other destinations.
