Recently, the top player in the 2028 recruiting class, ATH A’mir Sears, reclassified to the 2027 class, becoming the only uncommitted 5-star player in that year. With that being the case, Sears instantly became the focus of every team in the race for his commitment, and of course, LSU is in that group.
Today, Sears will announce his decision.
Being from Miami, Florida, it’s not a shock that Miami is leading the pack for his commitment, but in the current college football world, you never know. Sears is listed as an athlete, ranking first in that position, and in college, he is expected to play primarily at cornerback. With LSU’s history of developing cornerbacks, especially last season, Sears could be very interested in playing for the Tigers. Because he did reclassify, it would not be shocking if he made that decision with a team in mind, and hopefully that could be LSU.

Head Coach Lane Kiffin has not failed at recruiting outside of Louisiana, and there’s a reason why the school is deep in the running for most top-tier recruits. LSU has shown the ability to get the best out of players and get them to the NFL, which is the goal of most recruits. Also, having an elite recruiter like Corey Raymond can make the unexpected happen with ease.
Do you think LSU has a shot at Sears? Stay tuned to ATVS for all the latest in his decision this afternoon.
