Raphael Collignon will be making a quick turnaround after finishing runner-up in Gstaad when he meets Daniel Altmaier on Tuesday in Kitzbuhel. First-round action also features a showdown between Sebastian Baez and Miomir Kecmanovic.
Sebastian Baez vs. Miomir Kecmanovic
Baez and Kecmanovic will be going head-to-head for the fourth time in their careers when they clash in round one of the Generali Open on Monday. Kecmanovic has won all three of their previous encounters on three different surfaces; 6-3, 6-2 at the 2024 Eastbourne event (grass), in three sets at the Paris Masters (indoor hard) a few months later, and in five sets at the 2025 French Open (clay).
Although Baez could have been poised for revenge much earlier in the season, he may be fighting an uphill battle at this point in 2026. Since beginning the year 7-0, the 56th-ranked Argentine is just 12-16 in his last 28 matches — even though he has played the majority of those on clay. Baez got blown out by Andrey Rublev 6-1, 6-2 in the Bastad quarterfinals last week, while Kecmanovic has played well of late despite not getting much to show for it — a five-set loss to Jannik Sinner at Wimbledon and a 3-6, 6-3, 7-5 setback against Juan Manuel Cerundolo in the Gstaad second round. The 58th-ranked Serb appears to be in strong enough form to once again have the upper hand in a matchup that he has owned in the past.

Daniel Altmaier vs. (7) Raphael Collignon
Collignon is coming off one the best weeks of his career, posting wins over Lorenzo Sonego, Valentin Vacherot, and Juan Manuel Cerundolo to reach the Gstaad final before falling to Stefanos Tsitsipas 6-4, 6-7(3), 6-3. The 24-year-old Belgian is up to a best-ever ranking of 37th and looks poised to make a charge for U.S. Open seeding.
Up first for Collignon on Tuesday is Altmaier, whom the No. 7 seed has never faced. Unlike his opponent, Altmaier is well rested after winning just one match in Bastad and then succumbing to eventual runner-up Luciano Darderi 6-4, 6-4. It should be noted that Collignon did not have a single easy match last week. He played four three-setters and the only exception was a 7-6(2), 7-6(5) result against Sonego. Fatigue will almost certainly be a factor, so Altmaier should find himself in a favorable spot.
