I need to switch it up a bit from betting just baseball and soccer. The soccer struggles have been fine because I am trying to learn it, so I’m splitting units and not really losing much. Lately, baseball has been crushing me. I just can’t seem to get a win, so I’m going back to my favorite sport – basketball. I love basketball and don’t care if it is college, NBA, or WNBA. I’ll see if it can be good for me as we play the Minnesota Lynx vs. Dallas Wings game.
The Lynx haven’t missed a beat this season, running their record to 14-4. This is a bit surprising considering the team is without its best player, Napheesa Collier. If you’re not familiar, Collier is an MVP-level player who has dominated for the Lynx. She still hasn’t even resumed on-court activities, so she may be out for the entire season. She suffered an ankle injury in 2025 against Alyssa Thomas, who also made headlines for pushing on Caitlin Clark’s throat.

The story of this team isn’t about Collier, though. The story is really that Olivia Miles has dominated for them this year. She was the second overall pick in the draft and she looks like she will be the Rookie of the Year. She has averaged 18.6 points, 4.9 rebounds and 5.6 assists this season. The story is also about the depth of the Lynx. They have a ton of talented players on the roster and have continued from last year’s success. If they do get Collier back, they might jump to title favorites.

The Dallas Wings have looked solid in their campaign as well. For two straight seasons, they had the No. 1 overall pick in the WNBA Draft. Now they are 11-7 and should at least be a playoff contender. With the first pick from last year, they took Paige Bueckers, who turned into the Rookie of the Year and one of the best players in the league. With the pick this season, they took Azzi Fudd, who has started contributing more and more. She is a lethal shooter, but I personally think she struggles to create her own shot.
With Bueckers running point, she can set up all of her teammates, especially Fudd. The bigger issue with the team remains their defense. They continue to allow too many points to opponents and too many easy buckets. Teams are averaging almost 86 points per game against the Wings. In their last five games, they’ve allowed 99, 110, 92, 91, and 66 points. Clearly, one of those was an anomaly.

Does that mean we just blindly bet the over? Of course not. The Lynx were one of the best defensive teams in basketball last season, and remain one of the better ones this year. This is a deep and balanced team that takes pride in the defense. Still, Dallas has allowed 90 and 100 points to the Lynx in the two games this season.

I think the Lynx team total is a solid look in this game. They can score and are one of the more efficient teams in the league. I also think Miles is looking forward to this game against Fudd. I’m going to take the over for their team total. Even if Dallas makes this a good game, they’ve yet to show me they can stop the Minnesota attack.
