The Pittsburgh Pirates are facing off against the Cincinnati Reds in the finale of a three-game weekend set at PNC Park

The Pirates are handing the ball off to Mitch Keller to close out the series. Keller pitched six innings in his last start against the Seattle Mariners earlier in the homestand. He performed well, pitching six innings and giving up just three runs, but the offense did not give him enough run support. Keller took a 2-1 lead into the seventh inning, but a home run from second baseman Cole Young changed the entire tone of the start and game as a whole.

Keller picked up a loss in a game he could have won, especially if Don Kelly swapped him out after the sixth inning. However, the fact that he was trusted to go into the seventh is a good sign for what Keller can do against the Reds.

Cincinnati is trotting out Brady Singer, who is 3-6 with a 4.81 ERA in his second season with the Reds. In his last start, Singer pitched seven innings against the Milwaukee Brewers without giving up a run, but the Reds still lost 2-1 in 10 innings. Now, Singer hopes to continue his momentum against the Pirates.
