
A Russian drone struck a school in Kyiv on Thursday, causing damage to the building but leaving no injuries among students or staff. Ukrainian officials and the school’s headteacher reported that windows were shattered and part of a wall was destroyed in the attack.
At the time of the strike, 104 children had already arrived at the school. An air raid alert prompted students and teachers to move into shelter classrooms, which protected them from harm when the drone hit.
Damage and Response
Valentyna Chorna, headteacher of School 12, expressed the grim reality of the attack, stating that “They spare no one” and emphasizing the symbolic nature of targeting children, whom she called “the future of our nation.” The school community remains shaken but relieved that everyone was safe.
