• A viral video shows Taylor Swift fans outside Madison Square Garden receiving a pastry from a bakery van.
  • The fans believed the food came from Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding, though that connection hasn’t been confirmed.
  • Social media users had plenty to say about the enthusiastic reaction to the mystery dessert.

We already know Swifties can be a little extra. But even by their standards, celebrating a mystery pastry from an anonymous van like you’ve just secured a piece of royal wedding cake is… a lot.

In a video circulating online, fans gathered outside and around Madison Square Garden for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding can be seen filming a white van marked “SP Bakery Distributors Inc.” There’s no confirmed connection between the vehicle and the nuptials, but that didn’t exactly stop the crowd from trying to figure out whether the people inside had anything to do with it.

“How was it? Good?” someone behind the camera yells toward the driver.

Then came the important questions: Give a thumbs-up if it was chocolate cake. Thumbs down if it was vanilla.

Again, we have zero idea if these people catered the wedding, delivered anything to the wedding, or simply made the unfortunate decision to drive past a group of extremely determined Swifties while operating a bakery van.

Then, at one point, a man inside the van lifts a box toward the window, prompting someone in the crowd to yell, “Throw it! I’ll catch it!”

“I got this. I don’t care. It’s Taylor Swift food,” he declares.

Before the mystery pastry could be launched into the crowd, an officer walked over and collected the box, creating another dilemma: Who among the Swifties deserved the anonymous baked good most?

“Officer, I deserve it. May I please have it?” the man filming asks.

As you can imagine, he got his hands on a pastry.

It’s hard to tell exactly what it is, but, in as general terms as possible, it seems to be a glazed square of laminated dough—the layers are clearly visible—with some kind of filling, possibly apple. It looked perfectly nice. Was it the type of jaw-dropping confection you might expect to emerge from the wedding of two extremely famous, extremely wealthy people inside Madison Square Garden? I’ll allow you to reach your own conclusions there.

That said, based on the screeching, absolutely none of that mattered to the recipient.

“Oh my God, guys, we’re having Taylor Swift dessert!” he screamed on the streets of New York City.

Could it have been an ordinary pastry that’d never even been within 500 feet of the reception? Of course, but apparently believing is half the fun.

People on X weren’t especially interested in whether the pastry could actually be traced back to the wedding. The possibility alone was enough.

“If dessert was included I definitely would’ve made the trip to Madison Square Garden,” one person wrote. Another viewer found the screaming excessive but the free food enthusiasm completely understandable: “That dude is being too extra but I too would be giddy over free dessert.”

For some, though, this was no longer just a pastry. “THAT BOX SHOULD’VE GONE TO THE MUSEUM,” one person declared, while another joked, “She literally said let them eat the cake im so jealous.”

And one fan was already grieving the fact that geography had kept them from what they saw as the closest thing to a wedding invitation: “SO THEY PRACTICALLY ATTENDED THE WEDDING????? F*CK THAT I DON’T LIVE IN NEW YORK!! WDYM THEY ATE THE WEDDING LEFTOVERS 😭😭😭”

Personally, I think “practically attended” is a bit of a stretch, but if eating an unverified pastry outside MSG counts, then congratulations to all those Swifties involved on making the guest list.
