Ricki Lake is celebrating the “leap of faith” she took two years ago when she underwent a facelift after losing weight that left her with loose skin.
The 57-year-old shared before-and-after photos of the procedure on Instagram on July 18, giving fans a look at her transformation.
“Happy 2 year anniversary to me. Yes, 2 years ago today, I had a face lift. Specifically, for those wondering, I had a deep plane lower face and neck lift along with a mild co2 laser,” she captioned the carousel.
According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, a deep-plane lower face and neck lift repositions deeper facial tissues to restore a more youthful jawline and neck. CO₂ laser resurfacing removes damaged outer layers of skin to improve wrinkles, texture, and sun damage.
Lake thanked her “talented and kind” plastic surgeon, Dr. Allen Foulad, saying he delivered results that are “remarkable, natural, and long-lasting.”
The former talk show host said she sought cosmetic surgery after losing 40 pounds in 2023 that left her with loose skin beneath her chin.
“I lost 40 lbs over the course of a year,” Lake wrote. “I hated the extra skin that hung from below my chin. It was never going to tighten up by itself.”
“I took a leap of faith and I’m so grateful I did,” she added. “I am also very glad to see so many people over these past couple of years opening up about their own plastic surgery journeys.”
Lake joins a growing list of celebrities who have spoken openly about getting a facelift.
Rosie O’Donnell revealed on Substack in May that she underwent a facelift in January after once believing the procedure was a “betrayal” of feminism and aging. After losing 50 pounds, she wrote: “This isn’t aging, this is melting with intention.”
O’Donnell said the surgery helped her “stop arguing with the mirror,” adding, “I didn’t disappear, I didn’t become someone else.”
