  • WHO: The watch is in effect for Milam, Robertson, Leon, Lee, Burleson, Brazos, Madison, Trinity, Washington, Grimes, Walker, Austin, Waller, Montgomery, and San Jacinto counties. It also stretches into parts of Central, South Texas, and the Hill Country.
  • WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. Around 2″ to 4″ of rainfall is expected with isolated higher totals possible.
  • WHEN: The Watch goes into effect Thursday evening at 9 PM and lasts through Saturday at 4 AM.
  • IMPACTS: Flooding may occur in urban and poor drainage areas. Heavier rainfall could also cause flooding of creeks, streams, and rivers. In some portions within the watch area, there is a potential for LIFE-THREATENING flooding. As always, turn around, don’t drown.

A Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flooding, which can be a very dangerous situation. Areas outlined in the watch should remain alert to possible flooding.

The National Weather Service also notes the potential for the Watch area to be extended in area as well as time. This will be monitored through Friday evening and adjusted as needed.
