
One of the Calgary Flames‘ 2026 draft picks has family ties to the team.
The Flames used the 63rd-overall selection on Saturday during the third round of the NHL Draft to select forward Joe Iginla.
Joe is the son of Hall of Famer Jarome Iginla, who spent 16 years with the Flames, playing 1,219 of his 1,554 NHL games with the organization and serving as captain for nine seasons. Jarome is now special adviser to GM Craig Conroy,
Joe, 17, split the 2025-26 season playing for the Edmonton Oil Kings and Vancouver Giants in the WHL, recording 31 points in total.
His brother, Tij, 19, was the No. 6 pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, taken by the Utah Mammoth.
