Dutton Ranch fans, you’re going to have thoughts about this piece of news.
The Yellowstone spinoff has been airing every Friday on Paramount+, with fans following Rip Wheeler (Cole Hauser) and Beth Dutton (Kelly Reilly) as they embark on a new life in southern Texas. Clearly, fans have been enjoying the couple’s latest saga, as Dutton Ranch quickly had the biggest show debut on Paramount+—and that’s with multiple episodes yet to air before the finale.
And it looks like folks are about to get a lot more from the world of both the Dutton and 10-Petal Ranches, based on major news that dropped on June 24. Posting a video on Instagram, viewers learned that Dutton Ranch had been renewed for season 2 on Paramount+.
“We’re just getting started,” the caption read alongside the snippet. “#DuttonRanch has been renewed for season 2!”
Naturally, many fans were thrilled about the prospect of Dutton Ranch returning for season 2. But others had questions about what the new installment would entail—like if they would get to see more from Beth and Rip’s romantic involvement. “Please center season 2 more on Beth and Rip instead of making them a subplot in their own show!” one person wrote in the comments. “Please focus more on Beth and Rip’s relationship in season 2! Would love to see more romance and passion between them again! 🔥,” another agreed. “Great! But please, more scenes of Beth and Rip. The entire plot must revolve around them, because they are the protagonists and the reason we watch the series. 🙌,” a different follower added.
While Beth and Rip are very much the anchors for Dutton Ranch, the show is making it known that other characters play a key role throughout season 1. Between Annette Bening as 10-Petal Ranch owner Beulah Jackson, Juan Pablo Raba and Jai Courtney as Beulah’s sons Rob-Will and Joaquin, Natalie Alyn Lind as Beulah’s granddaughter Oreana, and plenty more, the show is focusing on all aspects of working on a ranch, including the family dynamic of it all.
As far as what the folks at Paramount+ think about the success of Dutton Ranch, they are thrilled to see fans so involved every week.
“Beth and Rip are among the most iconic duos in television history, and we are thrilled to bring a whole new world to life with Dutton Ranch for our subscribers around the world,” stated Jane Wiseman, head of originals for Paramount+, per Deadline. “We’re also incredibly grateful to our partners, including the teams at Paramount Television Studios and 101 Studios, for bringing this new series to life with such grit, heart, and authenticity.”
Congrats!
