Alexander Bublik vs Alex Molcan ATP KItzbuhel Tips, Prediction & Live Stream
Over 22.5 games is tipped for this Generali Open quarter-final in Kitzbuhel, with Alexander Bublik avenging his defeat to Alex Molcan from earlier this season.
Molcan defeated Bublik in straight sets in Munich during the clay swing, but the Kazakh is the defending champion in Kitzbuhel and usually thrives in the high altitude, which suits his big serve and flat groundstrokes.
Bublik overcame a tough challenge in his Kitzbuhel opener, beating Facunco Diaz Acosta – who had won tons of clay matches this year – in straight sets. It was an important victory for Bublik, who lost the opening match of his Gstaad title defence last week to Quentin Halys.
Meanwhile, Molcan has continued his excellent comeback from injury, which saw him drop to as low as No. 646 in the world last year. The Slovakian has gone from outside the top 200 to a current ranking of No. 81, backing up a semi-final run in Umag last week with a quarter-final appearance here in Kitzbuhel.
Molcan will certainly fancy his chances after that aforementioned Munich triumph, but in these conditions, I have to give the slight edge to Bublik, who has an outstanding recent 8-2 record in quarter-finals – with those two defeats coming against Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz.
Over 22.5 games is the main play, with a smaller stake on Bublik prevailing in three.
