The story begins in 1975 when PK, originally from a rural village and facing the restrictions of caste hierarchy, met Lotta in Delhi. His belief that she was his destined partner was inspired by a horoscope his father had commissioned before his birth, predicting he’d fall in love with a woman from a family owning a jungle. Lotta’s Swedish family owned a forest, fulfilling that prophecy.
A Journey Fueled by Love and Determination
After their holiday romance, Lotta returned to Sweden, prompting PK to undertake the massive bicycle journey westward to reunite with her. The documentary combines extensive reenactments featuring actors Chirag Lobo and Mina Dale with interviews from the real PK and Lotta, now elderly, reflecting on their experiences.
The film captures intimate moments during PK’s journey, including interactions with strangers that add an authentic, natural feel to the narrative.
