The Toronto Tempo, losers of five straight, take on the Golden State Valkyries tonight at Chase Center.
The Valkyries’ top-scoring defense is a primary reason they’re hefty 13.5-point favorites in the WNBA odds.

The Toronto Tempo have run into a brutal stretch, facing five straight Top-5 teams, and the defense has unraveled by allowing a league-worst 106 points per game over its last four losses.
Now the concern shifts to the offense against a Golden State Valkyries defense that’s the only one holding opponents below 80 points per game this season (76.9).
With All-Star Marina Mabrey (neck) sidelined, Toronto will struggle to generate buckets, especially against a Valkyries team that gives up a league-low 32.7 paint points per game.
With the Valkyries bringing just a 13th-ranked scoring offense to the table, I’d take the Under down to 163.5 points.

The 6.5-assist line for Veronica Burton is just a tad high. It’s a number she’s only eclipsed twice in her last 10 starts.
One of those was against these same Tempo, where she went for six points and six assists in an 83-75 win.
Mabrey has been desperate for some scoring help, but Laura Juskaite has been providing some of it, scoring at least 18 points in each of her last two games.
