The Pittsburgh Steelers claimed two players off waivers Friday, adding receiver Colton Dowell and tight end Lance Mason to the preseason roster.
Dowell played 10 games as a rookie for the Titans, who drafted him in the seventh round in 2023. The 6-foot-3, 212-pounder has one career catch for 3 yards. He spent time last season on the Ravens’ practice squad. The Steelers claimed Dowell off waivers from the 49ers.
Mason (6-4, 239) signed with the Seahawks in May as an undrafted free agent. He played three seasons at Missouri State and one at Wisconsin. Over 42 career games, he had 86 receptions, 1,198 yards and 12 touchdowns.
In corresponding moves, the Steelers released receiver A.T. Perry and tight end JJ Galbreath.
