A 37-year-old man was killed Wednesday night after he was hit by a van while lying in the road in Volusia County, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.The crash happened just after 10:15 p.m. at the intersection of Spring Garden Avenue and Douglas Avenue.Troopers said a 63-year-old DeBary man was driving a 2020 Ford Transit van northbound on Spring Garden Avenue in the inside lane just before Douglas Avenue.FHP says at the same time, a man, 37, was lying in the middle of lane and was hit by the van.FHP says the driver was not injured and stayed at the scene. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.FHP is investigating the crash.
