The Detroit Tigers evened up their weekend series against the Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon with a 3-0 victory at Globe Life Field. Riley Greene provided the fireworks with a two-run homer while Jack Flaherty and the bullpen blanked the opposition’s bats for a full nine innings.
On Sunday, right-hander Casey Mize will climb the hill for the Olde English D in search of its second-straight series win over a division-leading team. The 29-year-0ld threw his best game so far this season last time out against the New York Yankees, whom he shut out over seven frames of one-hit ball while striking out 10 against zero walks for his third win of the 2026 campaign.
Taking the mound for the Rangers is fellow righty Kumar Rocker, who appears to be settling into his third year of big league action. The 26-year-old hurler put up mixed results last month, but finished it off with his fifth quality start of the season, throwing six innings of shutout ball on four hits and a walk while striking out five on the road against the Toronto Blue Jays, taking a no-decision in a 3-2 team win.
Here is a look at how the two match up on paper in Sunday afternoon’s matinee matchup. Note that the game will be broadcast exclusively on Peacock / NBCSN Extra.
