The Beyoncé album speculation never stops, but it might be kicking into high gear. The Beyhive is now wondering whether singer-songwriter and Paramore frontwoman Hayley Williams will be working with Beyoncé on her highly anticipated next album.
The next phase for Houston’s own Beyoncé has been a hot topic for fans, wondering what’s in store for the third act of a trilogy that began with her acclaimed album Renaissance. The Act I album focused on dance music, blending electronic music, disco and Black dance music together. Act II focused on country music, with Beyoncé blending country and her southern roots into Cowboy Carter.
Fans have long speculated that her next act will see her attempt to conquer rock and roll to cap off her trilogy. Her recent run of Levi’s jeans ads, among other hints, has convinced everyone that her rock era is on the way.
During Williams’ concert at in Maryland on Wednesday, a fan asked Williams whether she was on Beyoncé’s upcoming album.
“If I’m on Act III? What do you want me to do if I am?” Williams told the audience at The Fillmore. “Girl, I don’t know if I am or not.”
“If I could tell anyone, it would be you right now,” the “Ain’t It Fun” singer said. “I just don’t have that answer. You might know before I do.”
Fans are taking the non-answer as a strong possibility that Williams worked with Bey, since she, in fact, did not flat-out deny it. If she has worked with Beyoncé in the past couple of years, she likely can’t confirm because of legal reasons, and second, she may not actually know if what she worked on will be featured on the Act III album.

Artists who work with Beyoncé are often surprised their contribution made the cut when the album drops. On Cowboy Carter, rising Black country artists Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Roberts found out their vocals on “Blackbird” and their credits were featured predominantly on the tracklist when the album was released. Texas country star Kacey Musgraves was also said to have worked on Bey’s country album, recording five songs with songwriter and producer INK for the project. None of the songs made the final cut of the album, according to INK.
Williams participation in what will be the album event of the year for Beyoncé fans probably won’t be confirmed until the album is actually released. Though it’s all rumor, fans are excited by the prospect.
“GOD AND JESUS COLLABORATION INCOMING,” the fan account that posted the concert footage of Williams tweeted.
“WAIT BEY AND HAYLEY IM UP,” another fanatic commented.
Williams’ run with Paramore has produced some iconic jams and cultivated a passionate fanbase that has been rocking with her for 20 years. She’s currently on tour in support of her superb recent solo work, Ego Death at a Bachelorette Party, and the Tennessee native is often cited as one of the best vocalists in rock music. The idea of a Beyoncé collaboration with Williams is very enticing, hence all the excitement.
Williams is also a big fan of Beyoncé, recently reminiscing when she met the Houston star at the Grammys in 2008.
“She was super sweet, she said she loved ‘Misery Business,’ and that was just too much,” Williams said on an episode of the One Life One Chance podcast in February. “I don’t even remember if I said anything back because I just stood there like, ‘You’re Beyoncé!'”
