Deputies were forced to escort Bryan Martin off the stage at the Schaghticoke Fair.
A performer at the Schaghticoke Fair is apologizing to fans, after being led off the stage while appearing to be drunk.
The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office said country singer Bryan Martin was also behaving erratically.
It happened Friday evening, they said.
Investigators said Martin was aggressive and had to be forcibly escorted out.
The sheriff’s office said Martin later admitted he has been struggling with alcoholism.
“Addiction is a disease, and it requires both accountability and empathy. My hope is that Mr. Martin receives the resources and support he needs to overcome this struggle and continue to share his gift of music with fans in a healthier way,” Sheriff Kyle Bourgault said in a statement.
“Sorry I let yall down tonight… truth is I’m not ok… been hitting it hard for a while and haven’t took time to be honest with myself about my mental health and it’s nothing new to struggle with my anxiety and depression,” Martin said in a statement on social media.
He said he plans to get more help.
