The “completely devastated” family paid tribute to the “gentle giant” on Thursday (Friday morning AEST), releasing a statement through Hampshire Police.
“We are completely devastated by the loss of our beloved Mason, a devoted husband, father, son, brother and dear friend, just two days before his 53rd birthday,” the family said.
“It is impossible to put into words the void his death has left. Mason was larger than life in every sense. He lived life to the full, loved deeply and made an indelible impression on everyone he met. He was funny, adventurous, loyal and hugely generous with his time.
“Through his work as a professional bodyguard, Mason dedicated much of his life to protecting others. To those closest to him, he was our gentle giant. He was the person we turned to for strength, advice, reassurance and laughter.”

Haynes is survived by his wife, Fay, his daughter, Brooke, and son, Noah, who “were the centre of his world”.
Friends started a GoFundMe page on behalf of the family to help give the British bodyguard “the send-off he truly deserves”.

“I can’t go into much detail about that, I was part of that team, and that incident was simply a set of unfortunate circumstances which led to something bad happening,” he told London Now about the incident in a 2018 interview.
The six feet 10 inches (208 centimetres) personal protection professional had also formerly worked for a number of other A-list stars, including: ABBA, Lewis Hamilton, Beyoncé, Kate Moss and David Beckham.
