Fire crews are responding to a brush fire burning behind the Safeway in the D’Andrea area of Sparks on Tuesday.
Details remain limited, including the size of the fire and whether any structures are threatened. Smoke could be seen rising from the area as firefighters worked to contain the blaze.
According to Watch Duty, an evacuation order has been issued for residents on Vecchio Drive east of Gino Martini Parkway due to the fire.
An evacuation shelter has been opened at the Sparks Library, located at 1125 12th St. in Sparks, for residents displaced by the fire.
Authorities have not released information on what may have sparked the blaze, and no injuries have been reported.
