Any summer road trip plans coming up? No? Well, can we interest you in a Rhode trip? Everyone’s favorite billion-dollar beauty brand is back with a new Rhode summer collection all about bronzed, glowy skin. The campaign gave us a clue about the products to come: Hailey Bieber, with flushed, sun-kissed cheeks, traipsing through cityscapes and across the sand.

Aside from the limited-edition Peptide Lip Tint shades and flavors we’ve all come to expect each summer, Rhode’s makeup category is expanding overall. There’s a new Pocket Bronze stick and Highlight Milk, along with new shades of the brand’s lip balm and liner, plus fun accessories like a terrycloth towel and bag and the viral phone cases.

“We create a whole story and world around summer,” Bieber previously told Vogue Business—and that story has an experiential element too. Call it the Hailey Bieber effect, but no matter what launches, it seems to amass virality. There was the brand’s pop-up at Coachella for its Spotwear pimple patches, and last year’s Majorca beach club takeovers that added to the buzz. This summer, Rhode will quite literally be hitting the road with a slew of pop-ups across North America and Europe.

Its one-of-everything-good philosophy is hitting the right consumer pain points. Even I, a celebrity-beauty-brand skeptic, became a Rhode believer by way of the makeup categories—namely, the nonsticky lip balms with just enough color and the noncomedogenic blush that swipes on and blends out with a tap of the finger. Below, we break down and try each new product from the new Rhode summer collection. Spoiler alert: We love it.

The Bronzer Stick: Rhode Pocket Bronze

Vogue’s Kiana Murden uses Rhode’s Pocket Bronze in the shade Drench.

Why We Love It: Fans of Pocket Blush will surely love Pocket Bronze. It’s the same on-the-go, retractable cream stick, but instead of flushed cheeks, Pocket Bronze (as you may have guessed) imparts sun-kissed warmth when applied to the high points of your face. Another similarity? The noncomedogenic formula, which features a blend of peptides and tamanu oil for hydration. Meanwhile, kaolin clay helps absorb excess oil and keep the product in place. Best of all, there are neutral and warm undertone options amid this pick’s eight shades.
