
TRAFFIC: I-264 drivers dealing with issues on both sides of town
ROADWAYS, MO ROSE IN THE TRAFFIC CENTER RIGHT NOW. MO. WHAT ARE WE LOOKING AT RIGHT THERE? WELL, THAT IS AN ACCIDENT. AND IT’S IN THE DETOUR. WOULDN’T YOU KNOW IT? NOW, THIS IS 264 GOING WESTBOUND RIGHT NEAR THE TOP OF THAT RIVER PARK DRIVE RAMP. THEY’VE GOT THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OUT THERE. AN AMBULANCE JUST ARRIVED AND ONLY ONE LANE GETTING BY. THEY’RE SQUEEZING YOU OVER TO THE LEFT, TAKING UP A LITTLE BIT OF THAT SHOULDER. THIS IS ALSO PROBLEMATIC FOR FOLKS WHO ARE TRYING TO EXIT AT RIVER PARK DRIVE, BECAUSE YOU CAN STILL GET TO THAT EXIT RAMP, BUT YOU’RE GOING TO HAVE TO TAKE A SHARP TURN AROUND ALL OF THAT ACTIVITY. LET ME SHOW YOU WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON THE TRIMARK TRAFFIC CAMERAS HERE ON THE GROUND. AND YOU CAN SEE THE BACKUP PULLING THAT UP ON LYNX THREE. JUST TAKE A LOOK. There’s multiple problems causing backups on I-264 Wednesday afternoon.TRIMARC says a crash happened on I-264 W at the 1.9 mile marker just before River Park Drive at 5 p.m. The two right lanes and right shoulder are blocked.There were two vehicles involved in the crash. Fire and EMS are on scene.That section of I-264 is the recommended detour route during the two-month shutdown of I-65.A vehicle fire on I-264 E approaching I-71 is also causing traffic to slow. Only one lane in that area is open.Drivers should expect traffic to be moving slow in both areas for at least an hour.
