When customers called the T-Mobile Fiber phone line Thursday morning, they got an automated message saying the company was working to fix the outage.

GREENSBORO, N.C. — A T-Mobile fiber internet outage had Triad customers offline on Thursday morning. As of this afternoon, T-Mobile shared an email update with customers, saying service had been restored for some.

Here’s the email received by one T-Mobile internet customer:

We know your time matters, so we’ll get straight to it: your service experienced an outage this morning, and we’re sorry for the disruption — and for not giving you more notice.

The good news: the issue has been resolved and your service should be back up in the next 60-minutes.

Still not connected? Try this quick fix:

  1. Unplug your modem and any extenders
  2. Wait 5 minutes
  3. Plug everything back in

That should do it. Behind the scenes, our network teams are already working to make sure this doesn’t happen again.

Questions? We’re here. Call us at 844-783-4237.”

The update comes after several users reported outages early this morning.

When customers called the T-Mobile Fiber phone line, an automated message responded, saying the company was aware of the outage in the area and was working to fix the problem.

WFMY News 2 also reached out to Lumos, now part of T-Mobile Fiber. Lumos also gave an automated message, noting they were aware of an outage in the Thomasville and High Point, NC areas, and that engineers were working to fix the problem as quickly as possible.

WFMY News 2 reporter Amber Lake also experienced the T-Mobile internet outage at her home, and said her power had been restored. She said followers on her social media page also reported their internet was back on.

It’s unclear what the cause of the outage was.
