Saturday Night Live Season 51 wrapped on May 16, capping a season filled with memorable sketches, including many standout pretaped sketches. The most-watched pretapes from Season 51 ran the gamut from the hilariously gory “Home Alone” starring Ashley Padilla and Ariana Grande in a parody of the classic film’s most emotional scene to the instantly-viral “Heated Wizardry” starring Host Finn Wolfhard and Ben Marshall as two very Hollander and Rosanov-esque Hogwarts heroes.

Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, June 27, 2026?
No. SNL‘s 51st season ended with the May 16 Season 51 finale, with Will Ferrell as Host and Paul McCartney as Musical Guest. The days season finale episode was so jam-packed that fans received three Cut for Time sketches in the days that followed.
In lieu of a new episode, a previously-aired Season 51 ep will air in its typical time slot.

Who is Host and Musical Guest for tonight’s June 27 SNL episode on NBC?
Tune in tonight at 11:30 p.m. ET to catch a re-air of Alexander Skarsgård hosting for the first time, from January 31, 2026, with Cardi B as the episode’s Musical Guest.
The actor made the most of his hosting debut, from delivering an epic opening monologue (complete with impromptu “sax solo” — who knew Skarsgård had it in him?) to appearing laugh-out-loud sketches like “Winter Olympics Promo” and “Scandinavian Movie 2,” which featured his father, Stellan, making an unforgettable cameo.
Cardi B appeared in the topical “Immigrant Dad Talk Show 3” alongside Skarsgård’s father in his second appearance of the night — in a way, the elder Skarsgård pulled a little double duty of his own that night.

Skarsgård’s episode also marked a major milestone for the iconic late-night sketch comedy series — it was officially the 1000th episode in SNL‘s 50-plus year history. (Talk about a deep-cut bit of SNL trivia.)
