4-year-old found safe in North Ridgeville; mother in custody

WADSWORTH, Ohio (WOIO) – A four-year-old boy was found safe after the Wadsworth Police issued an Amber Alert on Friday evening.

According to a release from Wadsworth Police, the department received a call from a man expressing concern for his son’s welfare.

Police said that the child was with his mother, 38-year-old Elizabeth George.

Wadsworth Police records said the 4-year-old was last seen at 1118 Ledgestone Drive around 4:30 p.m.

Wadsworth Police learned that the child was in immediate danger and, while issuing an AMBER ALERT, coordinated with area law enforcement based on FLOCK camera alerts.

North Ridgeville Police found George and the child in a black 2019 Nissan Versa with an Ohio license plate at a Sheetz gas station on Lorain Road.

George was detained at 10:55 p.m. and charged with one count of endangering children.
